You cherish books that inspire self-care and challenge society’s expectations.

Ruby Tandoh has no time for guilt-inducing diets that encourage a negative relationship with our body. Eat Up is a celebration of food unlike any other. Not only did we get some delicious ideas for recipes, but Tandoh manages to interweave an examination of mental health, race, and classism into discussions surrounding our occasionally complex interactions with food. While this book didn’t turn us into the chef of our dreams, it gave us a fresh perspective on these issues and made us want to be kinder to ourselves.
